Our mission is to educate, empower, and unite workers by restoring democracy, transparency, and accountability within Teamsters representation. We are committed to returning power to the members and reviving the true roots of unionism: solidarity, protection, participation, and real advocacy for working people.
We support workers who have experienced inadequate representation by providing access to information, resources, and guidance so they can better understand and defend their rights. Whether union-represented or not, every worker deserves dignity, fairness, and a voice in the workplace.
We stand with workers as a partner in the fight for stronger representation, accountable leadership, and a more just labor movement.
- Protecting Workers’ Rights:
We seek to hold unions accountable by making sure workers are aware of their rights under union contracts and applicable labor laws at both the state and federal levels. - Strengthening Union Representation:
We advise workers to encourage their unions to act with urgency and commitment in enforcing contracts and providing fair representation to all members. - Workplace Education and Advocacy:
We aim to educate workers on how to build strong cases and effectively advocate for their rights in the workplace.
Building A Stronger Union From Within
Members First is proudly pro-worker and pro-union. We believe workers are strongest when they are organized, informed, and united.
Being pro-union does not mean ignoring failures within union leadership. When local unions neglect their duty of fair representation, fail to support members, or operate without transparency and accountability, workers are left vulnerable — and anti-union interests use those failures to attack the entire labor movement.
We exist to help close that gap. Our goal is to strengthen unions from within by educating members, encouraging participation, supporting workers, and demanding the accountability necessary to keep the labor movement strong.
We Believe Workers Are Strongest When They Are Organized.
Union representation gives workers a voice in the workplace, protection against unfair treatment, and the power to negotiate better wages, benefits, and retirement security. A strong union contract can provide due process, job protections, and standards that workers would not have on their own.
That is why we encourage workers to join, participate in, and strengthen their unions. When members are informed and involved, the union becomes what it was meant to be: workers standing together, protecting one another, and demanding better.
