Press Conference Announcement: Exposing Corruption in Teamsters Local Union Elections

Western Region Teamsters Members to Hold National Press Conference

To whom it may concern:

We, the Members of Teamsters in the Western Region Conference, are making history as we come together for the first time to conduct a national press conference dedicated to the integrity of Local Union Elections. This event marks a pivotal moment in Teamster history, as multiple Local Unions unite to bring attention to the growing concerns about unethical practices and the culture surrounding Union elections in California.

Purpose of the Conference

During this press conference, we will publicly announce and detail what we believe and have been witnessing ongoing corruption culture affecting Local Union Elections within the Teamsters Locals in California. We will present evidence and testimonies concerning the manipulation of ballots and ballot counts by the Election Company responsible for overseeing our Union elections.

We believe this company has been collaborating with incumbent union officials to improperly influence election outcomes and help those individuals remain in office. Furthermore, we will reveal that the Election Company has been operating with a suspended license issued by the California Franchise Tax Board for the past two years.

We are calling on the Attorney General Rob Bonta to investigate what we believe to be illegal business practices. The shutdown of all business activities and announce that all elections operated under this company, while operating under a suspended license, to be overturned and a new election be redone.

We are calling on the Department of Labor to investigate for criminal activity.

We are calling on General President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Sean O’Brien, who has been unresponsive, to step up and overturn all elections and disqualify all incumbents for bringing reproach to the IBT, with the violations of conducting local Union Elections operating under illegal activities compromising the integrity of the IBT Constitution for Election rules, and misrepresenting the members for a fair and honest local union election.
